Mangosteen | Our Story

Rooted in passion, made for St. Pete

Rooted in passion, made for St. Pete

Mangosteen is a tropical Asian-inspired restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg, where Southeast Asian flavors meet Japanese culinary craft. Built on a genuine love for bold food and an open table for everyone.

Sean Thongsiri began his culinary journey as a dishwasher at 9 Bangkok Thai on Central Avenue — the same street where Mangosteen opened its doors in November 2021. That personal history with St. Pete shaped everything about how the restaurant was built.

The menu spans yakitori skewers, creative sushi rolls, dumplings, noodles, and a dedicated spread of vegetarian and vegan dishes — all rooted in Southeast Asian and Japanese culinary traditions.
